I dream of Bodhidharma

I dream of Bodhidharma, 

    though I am not asleep

I hear his call to awaken

the souls of the world

and I search for the nothingness

that hides in the gaps

between our thoughts

but nothingness

is not nothingness

for in the gaps there is light

and infinite space

for in the gaps there is love

and boundless compassion

for in the gaps there is peace

and liberation

I dream of Bodhidharma

and suddenly, in an instant

I awake
